The aim of the Marches Scribes is to promote the art of calligraphy and lettering.

We are a friendly and welcoming group based in the Welsh Marches near Leominster, we now have a membership of over 40 from up and down the border including Herefordshire, Shropshire, Powys, Monmouth, Worcestershire and Kidderminster.

The society holds monthly workshops at Monkland Village hall (see Contact page for directions), with experienced tutors who encourage participants, of all levels, to share and enjoy fine writing and associated crafts.

We hold an annual exhibition, which we are pleased to encourage members of all abilities to contribute to. For details of this years exhibition and gallery of some examples see page  Exhibition 2019
